Description
The three main characters of my as-yet-unnamed webcomic-that'll-prolly-never-be-made. Since I haven't talked about them at all here, I'd better describe them a bit, clockwise from left.
Prof. Elijah: I still don't know why I named him Elijah. I picked it a while ago, so who knows. He's a genius. No, really--and he has no problem telling you so. When Jacen first meets him, he's running down the steps of the Humanities building waving a katana, for reasons that almost make sense when explained. Eccentric and irascible, like if Steve Jobs was Dr. Who was Albert Einstein. His apartment looks as if he keeps half the National Archive in it, with the spare bedroom full of nothing other than books and stacked papers. This is all the detritus of his wide-ranging creative and intellectual work: he's written 5 books of poetry, 3 novels (not quite finished), 4 books of history, one of religion, ten of scholarly essays, three of music and one and a half on music. And one of the walls is a mural, painted by himself. I can't seem to agree with myself on his age, but he's in his 40s. Average height, lean, a gray wolf.
Carrie: Bright & inquisitive (but not a genius!), funny, cheerful, and unselfconscious though not particularly social. Rather nerdy, in fact, and definitely overweight. Graduate student who works in the computer lab. 31, a bit short, dark brown hair and light fur--I'm pretty sure it's cream, but I might change my mind.
Jacen: College student majoring in philosophy, avid motorcyclist. You've seen him and his motorcycle already. He's interested in all things intellectual, which is why he's friends with Eli. Kinda gangly, 23, light brown fur and hair, though it gets bleached when he's out in the sun, which is often. Has a single earring in his left ear. His species is indeterminate, it being a mostly made-up physique loosely based on the way
draws bilbys.
*Spoilers*The plot of the comic is still changing, but I'm gradually becoming more interested in the unique romance and marriage between Eli and Carrie (aren't they cute?) than in what Jacen is doing. So he's kinda gone from being the main character to playing the straight man to the others. We'll see about that. Eli and Carrie have a very quirky relationship which I enjoy a lot, which is pretty much the reason that this comic idea has stuck around so long while all the others have died quiet deaths.
